BEIT SAHOUR, the heartland of non-violent Resistance to the Occupation, is where the Tax Revolt of 1987 against the Colonial Occupation of Palestine began.

We the women of Beit Sahour came together in 1956 to form the AWU’s Beit Sahour chapter. We run a guest house called El Beit – Arabic for ‘Home’ – to fund our social welfare projects in the community. We provide an affordable, clean and modern home for our friends abroad and visitors to the holy land of Palestine.

El Beit in Beit Sahour is conveniently located in the shadow of the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem, which is just 1 km away. And Jerusalem lies 9 km from across the Apartheid Wall. Frequent and regular public transport, south to Hebron and north to Ramallah and points beyond, is within easy reach.

All our rooms are climate controlled and have en-suite shower and toilet. There is free WiFi in every room. We are able to cook traditional meals we learnt from our mothers, in our well equipped kitchen, for you on request.
